The Lafayette Escadrille RC Flying field is located north of Duson Louisiana on North Richfield RD. (HWY 343 north).  We are north of interstate 10 approximately 2 miles on the right.
Look for the sign by the road posted on the homepage of this web site.  All visitors are welcome to come by and watch members fly their planes. Check our news page for any coming events or fly ins.  If you have ever wanted to get into flying RC Model Planes, check with one of the members at the field.  We would be glad to offer advice and information on this great hobby.
If your a member of one of the local clubs and a current AMA member, come by fly and fellowship with us sometime.  AMA rules, common sense and courtesy apply.
See ya at the field !!!

A   Little   History

Lafayette Escadrille R/C Club was founded in 1989 by a small group of flyers within
another club who wanted to preserve the spirit of Sport and Giant Scale flying. Originally
the club was the Giant Scale chapter of Acadiana R/C Club and was chartered through
the IMAA. These pure hearted individuals broke away from the parent club and chartered
Lafayette Escadrille with the AMA and dedicated the club to the pursuit of enjoyment of
R/C flying, not competition.

Just as it's WW 1 name sake squadron fought to keep the world free of oppression,
Lafayette Escadrille puts forth all efforts to maintain a site where all can enjoy R/C flying
of any kind. The only restrictions the club places on flyers are those of the AMA's Safety
Regulations and common sense and courtesy.

Over the years Lafayette Escadrille has held "any size fly-ins", but usually just exist as a
site for the enjoyment of flying and camaraderie. The club prides itself on maintaining an
attitude that welcomes spectators, interested newcomers and fellow flyers anytime a club
member is on site. All we request of fellow flyers is AMA membership. We are always
willing to provide information and assistance to newcomers with no commitment on their
part.
